Workplace injuries are common; and largely avoidable. Humans weren’t designed to spend as much time sitting as we do--much less crouched over a computer workstation.
The pain and discomfort we face in our neck, back, hips, hands, and beyond is frequently caused by improper alignment or asymmetry between our body and our workspace.
Sometimes this means our computer monitor is too low--leading to neck strain, or our keyboard is pitched too high, leading to carpal tunnel. Maybe your vision has worsened dramatically because your computer is too far away...so on and so forth.
Whatever ails you--it’s likely solvable through a workstation ergonomic evaluation by a licensed Occupational Therapist.
My name is Jesse Madera, i’m an Occupational Therapist--and I have been performing ergonomic workstation assessments since 2010. I’ve helped hundreds of clients overcome painful injuries through workspace ergonomic assessments.
I’ve also prevented pain from materializing in the first place by partnering with forward looking companies who realize that smartly designed workspaces allow for improved focus, clarity of mind, and improved performance without pain.
As an employer, you know that Worker’s Comp. claims rob you of earnings and can set you back in time, capital, and more. Preventative measures help give you peace of mind that you’re not sitting on a ticking time bomb via multiple workplace injuries--or worse--hidden lost productivity that bleeds you.
You can cover your liability risk by providing reasonable accommodations and offering this ergonomic assessment opportunity to staff.
Assessments are at a rate of $250 per person, or five assessments for $1000. Assessments typically take 45 mins to an hour depending on the complexity of the desk set up. Each assessment includes a head to toe physical evaluation of joint abnormalities and existing alignment issues, an industry first video-analysis by a Chiropractor, and a proprietary 30 item workspace evaluation report submitted digitally to your designee (for HR records of reasonable accommodations). The workspace assessment includes recommended equipment within allowable budget constraints--though often simple free modifications allow for an optimized workspace.
If you choose to have follow-up equipment setup, that will be billed at a rate of $100/hour, but is negotiable if 10 or more evaluations are performed. Good ergonomics help make your workplace an environment that is conducive to health AND wealth.
